Rooted in Tradition. Guided by Grace.

Welcome to Leela Yoga, a sacred space dedicated to offering classical Hatha Yoga in its purest form — as a path to inner transformation and complete well-being. Situated in the spiritual heart of Rishikesh, where the Himalayan foothills meet the Ganges, Leela Yoga is more than a yoga center — it is a gateway to experiencing the deeper dimensions of life.

Why We’re Here

We started Leela Yoga with a simple but strong intention:
To offer authentic yoga practices the way they were traditionally meant to be shared — with depth, precision, and reverence.

In a time where yoga is often reduced to stretching and quick fixes, we’re here to offer something more grounded, more transformative. We believe yoga is not something you "do" — it’s a way of being. And when taught in the right way, it can become a powerful force for balance, health, and deep inner joy.

What “Leela” Means

Leela is a Sanskrit word that loosely translates to “divine play.”
For us, it reflects the essence of the yogic journey — not as a serious struggle, but as a graceful, playful unfolding of life. With the right approach, the inner path can be joyful, even when it's intense.

At Leela Yoga, we try to bring that spirit into everything — into the way we teach, the way we hold space, and the way we support every individual who walks through our doors.

What We Offer

We teach a range of powerful yogic practices, exactly as they were transmitted in the classical yogic tradition:

  • Surya Kriya – A beautiful, meditative process that aligns you with the sun and brings balance to your system.

  • Yogasanas – Not just physical postures, but ways to tune the body into a higher state of receptivity and stillness.

  • Angamardana – A strong, invigorating fitness practice that requires nothing but your body — perfect for building strength, stamina, and resilience.

  • Bhuta Shuddhi – A deeply subtle but transformative process for cleansing and balancing the five elements within us.

  • Ongoing Sadhana Support – We’re here to support you even after your program ends — with corrections, guidance, and a listening ear.

All our programs are taught in small groups so we can give you the attention and support you deserve.

Our Background

All of us at Leela Yoga have gone through a 1750-hour classical Hatha Yoga training, living in intense discipline and silence for many months. We’re trained under the guidance of Sadhguru and the Isha Hatha Yoga School, known for upholding the traditional yogic sciences in their full depth.

But more than our training, what matters is the heart behind it. We genuinely care. We don’t treat this as a business — we see it as a privilege to share something that changed our lives.

Our Space

We’re located in a peaceful part of Rishikesh, away from the touristy noise but still close to the sacred Ganga. The space has been created with care — simple, clean, and energetically supportive of the practices we offer. It’s not a commercial studio, but a dedicated sadhana space.

Many people who visit say they feel a deep sense of calm just by entering.

What We Believe

  • Yoga is not just about the body — it’s about how you live, how you breathe, how you experience life.

  • Transformation is possible for anyone — no matter your background, age, or flexibility.

  • Authenticity matters — we don’t mix, dilute, or improvise. We share what we’ve been taught, as it is.

  • You’re not just a participant here — you’re a fellow seeker, and we’re honored to walk alongside you.

If you’re feeling called to explore yoga in a deeper, more authentic way — we’re here.

Come visit us in Rishikesh. Join a program. Or just drop by for a cup of chai and a conversation.

We’d love to meet you.

With warmth,
The Leela Yoga Team

(Founder & Teacher)

Rahul's Story:

Born and raised in northern India, Rahul moved to the south of the country to study. There, the question for more grew in him. In 2016, he discovered Sadhguru and the Isha Foundation, which ended his search for answers. In 2018, he completed an eight-month intensive program called Sadhanapada at the Isha Foundation in Coimbatore.

In 2020, he completed the Teacher Training at the Isha Foundation, which included over 1750 hours. This extensive and demanding training ensures that the teachers teach the practices correctly and have extensive experience in practicing Hatha Yoga themselves. Eight hours a day are spent on one's own practice. After completing the training, he traveled for three years to teach yoga.

In 2023 we opened our school Leela in northern India. Located in the Himalayas, on the holy river Ganges, our school offers a unique environment for learning and practicing yoga.
